The rewards. For a team that can defeat Kross, for example, you'll get a Kross navi chip...
For ONE NAVI that defeats Kross, however, you'd get the Kross element.
So yeah, rewards!

well for me the fight is more important. like I hate fighting bosses on games that are cheaper than kross could ever be. like on Final fantasy 12's yaizmat. he has 50,000,000 hp with a damage cap (meaning he takes only that much damage at max) of 9999 at first and once he gets down to 75% the damage cap goes to 6666 and his phisical attacks have a 40% chance of insta death. I love fighing bosses Like Omega on MMZ3. he was fast and he wasn't that cheap.

His best attack on there dealt 20,000. the dmg cap on the game was 9999 normally. he had the same stats (except health which it was lowered) and on that game the summons fought on thier own acord with the summoner in real time. and square enix thought Yaizmat was so cheap that they made it to were you could leave the arena save and come backwhen you had time and he would be at the same health (unless you left when he had regen on). his recomended level was 90+, he starts of doing 4,000 and at 50% health it jumps up to 6,000 and he really does have 50,000,000/ 50mil. hp the only creature deadlier is omega mark 12 (in atk) who starts of doing 5,000 dmg per hit then gets up to 7,000. you can't survive the battle without bubble which doubles your health or an accesory that reverses dmg and recovery effects *I need to be more careful on the way things look on posts since it could seem like I'm very angry when I'm not.

Bah. The only other boss that gave me a hard time in a video game would be... Sephiroth, from Kingdom Hearts I. He gave me trouble for three hours 'till I memorized his moves and patterns. I beat him at level 40. Lowest ever to beat him ^^

Hmm impressive. if you have ever played Phantasy Star Online: Episode I&II the final boss, Olga Flow, had an attack that will kill in one hit (unless severly over leveled) and covers half the arena. On normal difficulty I didn't survive it till lvl 120 recomended lvl is 40. he is still scary at my current lvl. So FF3's final boss was the toughest you ever fought? for me it was the second to the final boss on super ghouls and ghosts for the SNES.

Boss fights are fun for the challenge. In fact, that's why I like Sephiroth from both Kingdom Hearts.
Also, there are other enemies who you need to use a strategy, like the Spectrum Dragon in .Hack ((The One Sin)), who made himself invincible to all elements except the weakness of the last attack's element ((Actually, I never played the previous .Hacks, but that's how he is. In GU, he only switches between Dark and Light))
